New to window treatments? Start here. Decide whether you need blinds, roller shades, cellular shades, curtains/drapes, or layered combinations. Consider privacy, light control, insulation, and décor style.

  • Light Filtering vs Blackout: Bedroom? Consider blackout. Living room? Light filtering may be enough.
  • Moisture Areas: Kitchens/baths often benefit from moisture‑resistant materials.
  • Child Safety: Choose cordless or motorized where young children are present.

📏Measuring Your Windows

Accurate measurements ensure the perfect fit. Use a steel tape measure and record width to the nearest 1/16" if possible.

Inside Mount: Measure the exact inside opening width (top, middle, bottom) and use the narrowest; measure height (left, center, right) and use the longest. We take factory deductions as needed.

Outside Mount: Measure the area you want to cover beyond the frame for better privacy & light control. Add width to overlap trim; add height above the frame if using decorative hardware.

🎛️Product Customization Options

Most products allow you to choose size, mount type, lift/operating system, fabric, color, lining, motorization, and hardware finish.

  • Lift Controls: Cordless, continuous loop, wand control, motorized remote, smart home integration (where available).
  • Liners: Light filtering, blackout, thermal, or privacy lining for drapery.
  • Valances & Cassettes: Finish the top of your shade with a decorative cover.

🚚Shipping & Order Status

Standard orders process in 1–3 business days; custom fabrication adds 3–5 business days (longer in peak seasons). Domestic U.S. shipping is free on most orders. International transit varies.

🔧Installation Support

Most Gleaming Glass & Blinds products include mounting hardware and illustrated instructions. Basic tools: drill/driver, level, pencil, screws (included), anchors (if needed), and tape measure.

  • Inside Mount Blinds: Brackets install inside frame; snap in headrail.
  • Outside Mount Shades: Mark level line across wall/trim; secure brackets into studs or anchors.
  • Drapery Rods: Use center support for spans over ~72" (varies by rod type).

🔁Returns & Exchanges

Custom‑made products are not returnable unless defective or produced outside tolerance. Stock (ready‑made) items may be returned within 30 days if unopened. Request an RMA before sending anything back.

🛡️Product Warranty

Most custom window treatments are covered by a 1‑year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. Provide your order number and photos to start a claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I should choose inside mount or outside mount?
Choose inside mount for a clean, built‑in look when your window depth allows. Choose outside mount if the window is shallow, you want extra light blocking, or you need to cover trim/surrounding wall.
Can I change my measurements after I submit my order?
We can modify orders for up to 24 hours on most custom items if production has not begun. Contact support immediately with your order number.
My tracking shows delivered but I can’t find the package. What do I do?
Check with household members, neighbors, building management, and alternate delivery locations (side door, garage, mail room). If still missing after 48 hours, contact us and we’ll assist with a carrier trace.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes—we ship to many countries. Rates and availability depend on size limits and carrier networks. If your destination is not listed at checkout, email us for a quote.
What if my custom blinds arrive damaged?
Photograph the damage (box + product) and contact us within 7 days. We’ll repair, replace, or remake depending on the situation.
